P. tenuifolia Rubra Plena, Species, Double, red, 32", early
Also known as the fernleaf peony. This dark red double whith small blooms on top of finely divided, ferny foliage. Blooms are fleeting and foliage goes dormant in early
summer. This dwarf plant, usually 8" high when young, though height will vary
with climate and age. Excellent for use in rock gardens, where room must be made for its large root system, unusual in such a small plant. A single form is also available. (see tenuifolia)
